Internship/Master’s thesis: Benchmarking animal welfare standards and KPI reporting
About the project
We are looking for an engaged student to conduct a master’s thesis or internship focused on animal welfare, sustainability analysis, and reporting. The project aims to map and compare how different companies and markets work with animal welfare, with a particular focus on Northern Europe, including the Nordic countries.
Your responsibilities
- Benchmark various animal welfare standards and certifications (e.g., EU regulations, national initiatives, private standards).
- Analyze which KPIs are used to measure animal welfare and how they are reported.
- Review existing scientific publications in the field.
- Identify similarities and differences between markets and companies.
- Summarize best practices and provide recommendations for harmonization and transparency.
Your profile
- You are a university student, preferably in sustainable development, agronomy, veterinary medicine, economics, or similar fields.
- You have a strong interest in animal welfare, sustainability, and reporting.
- You are analytical, structured, and feel confident working independently.
- You have excellent English skills (Swedish is a plus).
Additional merits
- Experience in data analysis and benchmarking.
- Knowledge of EU animal welfare regulations or certification systems.
- Understanding sustainability reporting (CSRD, GRI, etc.).
